Careers

Two roles. That is the whole company.

Assay is one founder in Bangalore. Raised $0. Pre-product: interactive sample pack + harness sketch. If you want a tenth teammate, this is not it.

Expert network · Remote. Overlap with Bangalore and US East.

Data & operations lead

Recruit, qualify, and run the expert network that writes traces and rubrics. This is the supply side of Assay.

You will

  • Source protocol engineers, auditors, MEV searchers, onchain PMs, and compliance analysts. Named people, not clickworkers.
  • Run qualification: work sample, domain interview, conflict check. Reject most applicants.
  • Operate trace and rubric engagements: briefing, review, revision, payout.
  • Keep provenance honest. Role, years, qualification on every pack. No fake names.
  • Ship the first paid packs to labs and Base agent teams.

You are

  • Have run an expert or research-ops function, or have been the expert.
  • Can tell a real auditor from a Discord title.
  • Comfortable with awkward email, contracts, and quality bars.
  • Do not need a token story to explain the work.

Eval · Remote. Overlap with Bangalore and US East.

Harness engineer

Build the Base agent eval harness: wallet, explorer, SQL over decoded schemas, MCP tools, rubric scoring.

You will

  • Turn this sketch into a real eval loop. Canned SQL becomes a query surface. Rubric stamps become a scorer.
  • Wire mock then live Base context. No wallet-connect theatre. Tools are instruments.
  • Keep the workbench dark, fast, and honest about what is mocked.
  • Work with the data/ops lead so environments match the task packs.
  • Write the first internal evals against the four canary tasks.

You are

  • Have built eval harnesses, agent tools, or onchain developer surfaces.
  • Read TypeScript and decoded event schemas without a tutorial.
  • Prefer a rubric to a vibe. Prefer a failing stamp to a green dashboard.
  • Fine starting from a prototype, not a platform.
